Badun - Badun

Badun

Badun

From the Rump family comes another interesting Danish group, under the moniker Badun. Their debut album Badun was released earlier this April, and has received some unusual endorsement. On the press release we can read that Karl Hyde from Underworld says the following memorable words:

“The most beautiful aah…aaah…Mmm…Sound…Like honey.”

Badun are the trio Oliver Duckert, Aske Krammer and Brian Møller. Formed in 2001 to “create a new musical genre somewhere in between abstract digital sound design, non-repetitive electronica and the free spirit of 1970’s fusion jazz”, they have taken some 6 years to release an album - although they have released a Vektormusik edit and tracks on compilations. The Wire utters a confusing Mies von der Rohe paraphrase: “The less you listen to this Danish trio’s debut, the better it seems to get.” In response to that, let’s keep Thomas Hirschhorn in mind: “Less is less. More is more.” We want nothing less than more.

Badun has played at Roskilde Festival and Norberg Festival.
