Well, maybe you can help me out with May then, or perhaps I should contact Goth. Keep me informed on the other project, and please fill me in on the Japanes scene, I do not hear enough from there.

And yes Goth is the man, genuine and likeable, these guys made me feel right at home when I lived there, they're one of a kind and its why I wanna set something up with Japan cos theres too much talent out there too its crazy!

P.S. Goth is wonderful man and it was a pleasure to have him in Amsterdam. I think he is one of the most liked artists of our nights.

Hi Laurent,

Japan sounds great, especially if you can make it happen in May, I am planning to go there for a visit anyway (Tokyo). You know where to reach me.

And sure thing, just read my latest post and help me expand our notion of future music and its trajectory.

Hey Juha,

Yeah things are getting more interesting everyday. I definitely hope to make it up to one of the parties at some point, I was living in Tokyo until June and Goth was telling me all about the parties he did with you guys.
Anyways hope you get to check the article at some point, and will be in touch at some point as I'm trying to set something up with Japan which you guys would be a good fit for!
Take care

Hi Laurent,

thanks for the kind comment. It is definitely an interesting time to be in music, at least from the promotional point of view. The article dealt mostly with my use of Last FM to promote concerts and events, and to engage with our visitors. Then I use MySpace to talk directly to artists, who then feed the system of information-sharing, that goes from MySpace to Last FM, blogs, Last FM, and back to MySpace or other forums.

I will read you article as soon as I can. Thanks for the kind words, we do our best over here. There are too many artists for us to no do anything. Keep coming by, and we hope to see you here one day.

Best,

Juha

Hey well I'd be interested in checking out the article in English for sure! There is no doubt to me that the whole social evolution online, with web 2.0 and the likes (for lack of a better 'term'), is linked with how music is now consumed and spread, the change from a vertical system to an horizontal one.
What's hard to predict is how things will go, but there are a lot of possibilities. In terms of indie artists, people who operate at a smaller scale than the majors of old, or the ones remaining today, the whole evolution of music consumption and spread on the internet is i think a really good thing. A good case in point is the whole 'beat' thing, and how the music of the artists is spreading by online word of mouth, blogging, mp3 sharing etc... this in turn translates partly im sure to people going to gigs and so on. anyways it's definitely an interesting time for music, and I think for all media in general. I just hope that the move towards a more equalitarian way of consuming media isn't cut short by government and money interests.
On a side note, you might want to check out an article i did recently on the whole 'beat' thing, http://www.lo-la.co.uk/2008/09/07/the-return-of-the-boom-bap/ and there's a mix too, would be interested to hear what you think. sorry for the plug, it's easier than dropping an email. Been following what you guys do in Holland too, so massive big up to you all, please keep bringing it, i hope i can make it to one of the parties one day :)
