Somewhere in the Dark is a shining light
Having finally visited the exhibition Deep Screen I would like to encourage readers of this blog to go and see Pierre Bastien’s work Somewhere in the Dark. Bastien introduced me to this work in May, and it is much better installed than can be seen on the picture above. You can read the introduction here.
There are some more interesting works in the exhibition, but it is disturbing that yet another exhibition with a lot of sound pieces at the Stedelijk is hampered by ‘leakage’. When will they place works respectfully in isolation? Soundtracks from multiple works flow in and out of each other when you visite the 3rd floor. Don’t be discouraged by this and see the works of Pierre Bastien, Mark Bain and other interesting artists.
